Trinity Trusts (“we”, “us”, “the Trust”) is a charitable organisation working alongside communities in India. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us. We do not buy personal data, and we do not ask for information we have no use for.
When you contact us
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number and your message. We use this solely to reply to you.
When you apply to volunteer
Our volunteer form asks for your name, email address, phone number, city, the skills you can offer and your availability. We use this to assess your application and to put you in touch with the relevant programme team.
When you donate
Donations are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, a payment gateway regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. You enter your card, UPI or netbanking details directly with Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or netbanking credentials. What we receive and keep is your name, email address, phone number, the amount you gave and a transaction reference.
Automatically collected
Like most websites, our server records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited. This is used to keep the site secure and working properly.
Why we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and volunteer applications
- To process donations and issue receipts
- To meet our obligations under Indian tax, charity and accounting law
- To send updates about our work, where you have asked to receive them
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraud
We will not send you marketing messages you did not ask for. Every update we send carries a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing does not affect anything else.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
We share it only where necessary, and only with:
- Razorpay — to process your donation. Their handling of your payment data is governed by their own privacy policy.
- Our email and hosting providers — to run the website and deliver messages.
- Government authorities — where we are legally required to disclose, for example under tax or regulatory obligations.
How long we keep it
Donation records are kept for at least eight years, as required by Indian tax and audit rules. Enquiries and volunteer applications are kept for up to three years, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Technical logs are kept for a short period only.
How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to submissions is limited to the people who need it to do their work. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of what we hold.
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete your data, where we are not legally required to keep it
- Stop sending you updates
Write to sdgs@trinitytrusts.org and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for this.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Where our programmes involve children, that work is governed by our safeguarding practices and consent is obtained from a parent or guardian offline — not through this website.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the website.
